More lovely film photos from Nicole. Hawaii is looking mighty good right now, with all this gloom hanging
over LA. Hope your week is going well and that this post brought a little sunshine into your day.

Inside Diamond Head Crater
The approach of a landing airplane may be my favorite part of flying. A flight to Maui takes you strikingly
close to the hillsides of the West Maui Forest reserve--wind turbines covering the hills. The approach to
LAX gives you a panoramic view over Santa Monica and Hollywood. You U-turn over the skyscrapers of
downtown and begin your descent. Have you ever flown into San Francisco? You begin to wonder if you
are about to land on water. Then the runway slips into view just before the wheels hit the tarmac.
Below is a shot taken from our approach into Honolulu, Oahu. I love passing over Diamond Head crater
and enjoy the unique perspective of the mighty volcano from the air. Look closely and you can see the
surf spots of Kaikos, Browns, Diamond Head, Lighthouse, Suicides, Graveyards, and Publics.

Meet Ashton Smith, BAYVI TEAM Texas
We couldn't be more stoked these past few months to be working with up-and-coming ripper Ashton Smith,
who is from the 'Forgotten Coast' (as local Texas surfers like to say.) The coasts of Hawaii, California, and
Florida get quite a bit of attention, and Ashton is out to prove that the coasts of Corpus Christi aren't to be
overlooked. Many thanks are out to the crew at Covered Up Surf for taking care of Ashton!
A humble attitude, an uncompromising work ethic, and a stoke for the sports that he lives by makes him a
perfect fit. Go Ashton and Go BAYVI.

Novus Swell Online Magazine features BAYVI Teamrider Cole Yamakawa
Kaz and the guys over at Novus Swell featured BAYVI Teamrider and up-and-coming surf star, Cole
Yamakawa, in this week's issue of Novus Swell. It truly has been a fine pleasure watching Cole
progress throughout the years. It still blows our minds that the guy's only 15 years old!
An oceangoer, surfer, and fisher, Cole had an unfortunate accident where he burned his hand frying
fish he caught. Today, he undergoes surgery to graph skin and work his way towards recovery. Get
better Cole and we are thinking of you!
In the meantime, Novus Swell has put together a video, including a quick interview and an amazing
collection of surf clips of Cole.
Enjoy, and thank you Novus Swell! Check them out and support here.
