What in the World?

12:39 PM. Leila saw this on my desk and just asked, "What in the world?"
Marie Callender Chicken Pot Pie, post 14 minute nuke, and pre lunch digestion. Too lazy to find a plate, so sometimes a ramen bowl works just fine. Quite tasteful actually.
Paparazzi photos. Where are they? When will they be done? Who's the winner? Oh don't you want to know. Well today's the final day dedicated towards cropping, adjusting, sorting, identifying, putting the ads together, the stories, and writeups.
We might need some help identifying a winner! So we'll be posting the photos up and you'll be voting soon!

Run Rabbit Run
last night was shabu shabu at home. went to mitsuwa market after work to pick up ingredients and rushed home so ron could finish watching the dodgers game on fox.
house of a thousand corpses.
been searching for this movie for months, i've been wanting ron to see it. finally found it free on demand and what better way to get in the mood for halloween than a rob zombie film?! the movie also has the greatest tees that i'd probably wear in a heartbeat.

Hits Of Fall
Fall is slowly creeping through here, finally. We stopped at the post office on our way home from work
and I noticed little hits of burnt red leaves in the trees hung above our car. I've been waiting for so long to
see the seasons change, so these little things make my day.

Horror+Buffets
The howling & midnight meat train.
Flipping through channeIs and came across some free horror films on demand. I must say it was a satisfying few hours on my couch with cheetos and coke and the t.v on blast. It was the perfect way to smother out the sound of about 20 kids at the pool below my apartment fencing with brightly colored Styrofoam pillars. When the movies were done, the kids were still out there sunbathing in the setting sun.
Soup and salad. Getting over some 24 hour bug.
So it’s yet again FRIDAY! The Rose Bowl Flea Market is on Sunday, I’ve been waiting to check this thing out for a while. Needless to say, i'm pretty pumped for this!
Have a good weekend everyone. "no work till monday..."

ramen+

been a month since i've been here. halloween is coming up and the grocery stores are selling
various types/styles/sized pumpkins. personally i'll settle for the smallest one possible.
i'll stick it outside on the railing. it's a freak show in this apt building. homeless hot dog dogs
roaming free when the sun goes down. i don't know what's up with that but ironically, last night
i could've sworn i seen it running away with a hot dog in its mouth.
tonight after work we went to little tokyo to this little yakitori place for a drink and some food.
i wish i could remember the name of the place after two plum wines. zzz. i really can't
remember, sorry! when i do remember though, try their asparagus wrapped in pork.
we were gonna try this ramen place near marina del rey that my friend lauren referred to me but it
was a little too far. i'm definitely planning on trying it www.santouka.co.jp . it's suppose to
be the best ramen in north america so i'm determined to try it out. from one ramen lover to
another, i'll let you know how it goes. so far i've tried a few here in LA but nothing has really
grabbed my attention. i miss hawaii ramen spots like goma ichi and goma tei and their tan
tan ramen, taishoken !, kiwami ramen !!, tenkaippin! , don don , ezogiku , sumo , inaba SOBA ,
and the list goes on. email me for more information on key ramen spots:

i'm no pseudo-elitist! it's all open source here, just ask away.
now we're home and i'm HAPPY as hell that it's friday. i get to sleep in tomorrow, do my hair
and go anywhere i please to relax and enjoy my day. it's been a month since we've been here
and we haven't had ONE weekend to ourselves. i'm excited. anyone know any good ramen in
los angeles?? haha.

Piers + BBQ's
Had a chance to hit up Santa Monica Pier for a BBQ fest, yesterday. It was a nice day and a lot of people
were out under the tents, standing in line for hours for a plate of ribs and bbq goods. It was nice to get out
finally and breathe some 'fresh' air heh--errr as fresh as it gets!? The day was fresh at least...

week in photos
how did i live without internet 15 years ago? being without the stuff for one week has given me some serious
withdrawls. if internet cafes weren't so expensive, i would've found me one and marinated there for a while.
oh well, for the time being, we're connected! here are a few photos i managed to get up onto the computer.
my week in photos:
early morning. sunlight creeps through.

life
vs.
death.
night.
vs.
light
atrium shadows, glitter.

day one.
planes. planes. planes.
LTU, germany. 1989 built. ashtrays in armrests. old foreign bought planes.
middle of the pacific ocean.
[insert neighbor's chinese karaoke here]
tonight's dinner. burritos and tacos.

BAYVI in Los Angeles
Pardon the delay. This past month has been a month of suitcases, airplanes, highways, travel, travel, and more travel. As a result, we haven't had much access to the internet recently. A few borrowed wi-fi signals here and there. We just got back from the Action Sports Retailer trade show in San Diego, we're currently in Los Angeles, and we're now back online.
The air is dry. Cars drive fast. And we're sleeping on the floor of our friends house. A neighbor is blasting some hard core Chinese music.
It's all a part of the operation.
For those patiently waiting, we've been working hard and you can expect to see a lot of new and exciting developments from the VI: Including our new BAYVI Production and Distribution Center adjacent the garment district in Los Angeles, our new Fall Line which we're scheduled to debut online later this week, and a taste of our upcoming cut & sew boardshort and walkshort line. We're in the midst of setting up our secondary office in Los Angeles (Hawaii will always be our home and our main headquarters), and we'll be taking a few photos of our new distribution and production center to show you.
For now, a few recent photos along the way. South shores have been cranking with a good South Swell. Be sure to catch a wave for those working hard out here in the mainland.
Aloha,
The BAYVI Crew

To the east.

Do you remember when smoking was allowed on airplanes?

Stay classy San Diego.

ASR Trade show September.

Always nice to see a familiar face across oceans...Angry Woebots on display.

Always a nice treat in the Mainland...Krispy Kreme freshly baked and served.
More updates on our new facility coming soon.
Online shop reopens later this week.
Aloha.
