50th State Fair
After years of begging friends & family to come with me to the fair, the dream finally came true. I had big
plans for rides and games but when I got there, it just wasn't the same as I had remembered as a kid.
We stopped at a petting zoo, won a few over-sized stuffed animals from gun games, I cheerleaded a
pig (yes, I said pig) race, shot some photos, and went on the zipper. The older I get, the more I analyze
the safety of carnival rides and wonder how thorough these ride-builders really are. Sometimes though,
you just have to push yourself to do things you're not 100% sure about. The more you analyze, the more
you're held back from living life to its fullest. "Paralysis by analysis". Now I just gotta find that balance
somehow! haha.

TEAM_VI: 2008, three top-10 finishes!
The HASA State Championships are in full swing at the Bowl. In some heats the sets are just plain firing, solid 3-4 footers and providing an empty canvas for surfers to paint their magic. Might be a good time to get a refresher surf in. Afternoon tides have been extremely high with no-moon skies, so time it right and get on it.
The 2008 Point totals are coming in and a big Congratulations to TEAM_VI representing strong with solid top ten rankings, including a champ!

"Have-it-your-way" Champ Alex Pendleton. 2008 Rookie year. 2008 HASA Surf Series 1st Place Champ!

Not sure what the Pendleton Family feeds these guys, but the Pendleton brothers pack a strong punch. Chris Pendleton 6th place yearly ranking. Congrats!

7th Place 2008 Ranking Kainoa Haas in the pocket at the BOWL. Congrats! Many thanks to Hawaiianswell.com for the photo.

FALL LINE COMING IN. LAUNCHING SOON!
Aloha

Imaginary Images
Easter Island, Egypt's pyrimids, Machu Picchu, Stonehenge, strange monoliths, unexplained objects &
sightings. Are we just paranoid? Or is there really something behind what our mind and eyes see?
Sometimes things aren't as complicated as they may appear. Step out of the box, view things from a
greater scale, you may see life a little differently.

Stickers!
Our shipment of newly designed stickers has just arrived. Opening the box is like Christmas in June. We could have used the money to buy four PS3's, but it's about stoking out those of you in the BAYVI 6A. 6A members will have first dibs on these when we drop our Fall Line on this website in just a few weeks!

$19 Million Toilet into Space
For those who had a chance to watch it today, NASA strapped Space Shuttle Discovery onto three giant rocket boosters and sent up an emergency replacement toilet to the folks at the International Space Station. A broken toilet is bad enough down here on Earth, but you definitely don't want that stuff floating around up there. The bright minds of NASA must have constructed the premium of all premium toilets ever made, clocking in at a whopping $19 Million dollars that would have even made King Jaffe Joffer of Zuwanda proud in 'Coming to America.'

Now that's one expensive toilet.
For those who missed the launch, the launch video below. Click on image to watch. Some pretty trippy stuff:

Life while-you-wait
Dentist office waiting rooms. What comes to mind:
Textured bamboo wallpaper, fake yellow flowers in old ceramic homemade
vases, old silver & blue 70's style sofas placed under a few black and white
framed photos of hula dancers, and that steril smell, preserved like a jar of jam,
that refuses to wash off my skin long after the visit is done. Still, there's some-
thing relaxing to me about reading one old beaten magazine after another
until my name is called, but maybe i'm just crazy.

TEAM_VI Represents Strong at Surf Into Summer
What an action-packed weekend this was. Racing across the island between Local Motion's Annual 3-Day Surf Into Summer Contest at Ala Moana Bowls, the PASS Skate into Summer at Hickam Hangar (Story post to follow), and then the Heavywater Magazine AfterParty at Aloha Tower (Post to Follow), this 3 day weekend flew by in a hurry. Whether you were down to surf the South Swell that came along the South Shorelines, whether you were down to get your best run scored for the skate contest, or whether you just plain wanted a beer and music, this weekend was made for you.
Big ups to the BAYVI Surf Team, representing strong and well at this year's contest. Also many thanks to Local Motion and supporting sponsors who made this event possible!

Many prizes up for grabs: Trophies. Gift bags. Glory.

The rivalry between these guys goes back years. Left, Jared Clapper: 2006 Champion. Right, Gregg Nakamura: 2007 Champion. 2008 = ?

Chris Kays / Ultimate Boarder Recap
So as we posted earlier, we've been following Chris Kays' adventure as one of the 50 invited pros around the nation to compete in the Trifecta of Boardsport Competitions, the UltimateBoarder. While the trip started off on an interesting note (lost luggage, hotel mixups, and an abandoned ride rom Norcal to SoCal), when things needed to be right, Kays turned it on to take home 3rd Place honors of the invited Skate pros. Some new photos are starting to come in from Ventura and Santa Barbara, so enjoy the recap. Many thanks to Radical RP representing out in SB, all photo credits to the man of aloha.

Comp day. Many thanks to Fuel TV and Ultimate Boarder for the contest.

Tank top steez.

Congrats again!

Photo-man sent this to us and said he wanted make sure everybody was representing the VI.

Aloha.

Sorry for the lag on the daily photos, contracted some flu-like plague that's goin' around. Stuck in the house
drinking chicken noodle soup and watching the game show channel on digital. Hope this thing goes away
soon, I wouldn't mind some sun + beach. Go catch some sun for me and feel free to send more photos!
We love your submissions!
