New Product Sneak Peak

Another teaser photo of upcoming product releases.  Stay tuned for release date schedules.

The yet-to-be-released BAYVI 'PIERS' tee.

From Hawaii to Huntington Beach, CA, Duke Kahanamoku brought the spirit of surfing to the mainland.
Duke's ambassadorship of surfing throughout California is often represented by his iconic statue at
Huntington Beach.

This design was based on a photo of the legendary Huntington Beach pier.  I still remember when we took
this photo.  It was taken during the California fires in 2009, which resulted in some pretty dramatic sunsets.
I love how the low clouds and the bird soaring towards the lifeguard tower add to the shot.

I wanted to share some random images with you. They were taken a few weekends ago at an amazing
little farm.

Also, it's FRIDAY! Some of you have a 3 day weekend! What are your plans? Work? Celebrating
Valentines Day? Magic Tradeshow in Vegas? Relaxing? Whatever it is you'll be getting into, have
fun :)

Cole Yamakawa Video

One of our youngest BAYVI teamriders:  Cole Yamakawa, age 14.

I remember first seeing Cole out in the water at Ala Moana Beach park when he was but 11.  Always
smiling.  That's Cole.  It could be 1 foot, knee-high, and blown out, and the kid's still grinning from ear
to ear, having the time of his life.  It's guys like Cole that remind you of why we started surfing in the
first place.  We could use a few more Cole's in the lineup.

But don't let that smile fool you.  He's got a relentless drive for progression.  It is his passion that he
exudes day in and day out that is simply inspiring.

And that is the very reason why he's a part of BAYVI.  Enjoy his video montage he put together.

Gopal Butler:  Maneuvering in Critical Territory

Good afternoon everybody.  Yesterday, I received an email from BAYVI Teamrider Gopal Butler as he sent
this photo on over to us.  I love this shot and I wanted to share it with you, our readers.

We have a ton of amazing photos of Gopal.  Some of my favorites include photos by Nash Witten at Sunset
and candid shots of Gopal by Rob Hudson.

While this photo is set to a cloudy backdrop with less-than-ideal lighting situations for the day, the reason I
like this photo is the content itself.  It speaks volumes about Gopal's character.

What you don't see in this photo is the shallow 6 inches of sharp reef he's hovering over.  While most would
either kick out, run to the shoulder and do a roundhouse, or go for a traditional snap in a safer region three
feet to his right, Gopal feels compelled to attack the lip in its most critical section:  a fins-out tail-release snap
in the curl of the wave, all while hovering over a shallow shelf of skin-cutting reef.

That's Gopal.  And that's why I like this photo.

From Texas  :  Shawn Swanson

Here are a couple of pics from today!  Waves weren't that good: waist to chest with a 30mph heavy east
wind but still scored a couple.  We are expecting some killer waves tomorrow.  Should be head high with
light off shore winds, we'll see.

Talk to you later...
