North Pacific Storms + Giant Wave Trains
Tuesday's morning newspaper in Hawaii.
For those in Hawaii, this macker of a swell is producing some fine wrap at the most unexpected spots
around the islands. For those on the West Coast, these same swell trains will be lighting up the likes of
Rincon and great NW point breaks in a matter of three days.
Enjoy, be safe, and happy surfing.

Good morning to the BAYVI 6A. We've been on the road quite a bit this past week and things have been
quite hectic. This week, we haven't had many opportunities to post stories to our daily readers, but we fill

So many recent events and exciting releases to fill you in on! For now, just wanted to put up a quick post.
Here's a photo of our recent travels: Back to Hawaii.
Need to shut this computer off and hurry and catch a plane. Will update again soon.
Everybody have a great and safe thanksgiving. From all of us at the BAYVI Family.

Spent the day down on the East side of Oahu. You can see the sandbar in the first photo, if you look close
enough. It was somewhat of a gloomy day today, but still nice and relaxing.

Super Slo Mo and the Future of Surf Videograpy
There are certain videos that you come across in your life that really leave
a lasting impression on you.
It could be certain movies, certain music videos, or certain commercials,
whatever they may be. For instance, I will never forget when Doc Brown
sped to 88 miles per hour in a blazing trail of fire. I will never forget when
Michael Jackson's Black or White music video first introduced a 'state-of-
the-art' (at the time) technology dubbed 'video morphing' during the
concluding segment of the video. And for some reason, I undoubtedly will
never forget the Sham-Wow infomercials no matter how hard I try.
The Cover of Bruce Brown's Endless Surmmer.
When it comes to surfing, just ask around and we all tend to have our
personal video favorites. Enthusiasts of shortboard progression may give
you the name of 'Young Guns 3', while a more mellow friend might make
his or her case for 'Single Fin Yellow'. However, there do seem to be a
few consistent standouts that tend to make the top 10 for many. These
include videos such as Kelly Slater Black and White, Momentum Under
the Influence, and the Endless Summer series. You may find the recent
Campaign and Young Guns chronicles in a friend's lists as well.
But why do these videos stand out in our memory banks? What is it
about these videos that makes us play them over and over and over, to
the point where we begin to associate the 'Vampire Love Song' by Ash as
"that one song that plays during CJ Hobgood's giant Teahupoo paddle-in
wave in Campaign 2"? What is it about these videos that make us stop,
rewind, play again, stop, rewind, and play again in hopes that the more
times we watch it the more we'll be able to convey the actions of
progressive surfing into our own bodies?
Perhaps it's because these great videos all have one thing in common:
they're innovative.
Recently, while browsing through my morning reads of Surfline, I came
across a teaser clip of Dane Reynolds in Mexico filmed by a new, super
slo mo HD camera. Super Slo Mo is unlike anything I've seen before.
Much respect is due to the steadfast film crew for advancing the
technologies of surf videos. If this is a mere teaser shot, I can't hardly
wait to see what the future of surf videos entail.
